About the Middle Division:

Building upon a strong academic foundation, our Middle Division challenges students through rigorous academics, critical thinking, and hands-on learning experiences. Through increasingly advanced coursework, leadership opportunities, and meaningful Jewish and Hebrew studies, students develop independence, confidence, and the skills needed to succeed in high school and beyond. Developing Critical Thinkers and Communicators: Through Arts and Letters, students strengthen literary analysis, writing, and communication skills while exploring literature, history, and the arts.
Preparing for Advanced Mathematical Thinking: Using Big Ideas Math, students explore algebraic concepts, geometry, ratios, and data analysis while strengthening mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
Exploring Science Through Investigation: Our Smithsonian Science curriculum challenges students through experiments, scientific inquiry, and collaborative investigations that connect scientific concepts to real-world applications.
Understanding History and Our Changing World: Students explore U.S. and world history, government, and global cultures through research, document analysis, and inquiry-based learning
Innovating Through Engineering and Technology: Students explore creative design, aeronautics, media literacy, and robotics, culminating in an eighth-grade, year-long robotics experience featuring humanoid robots and NASA-style engineering teams.
Discovering Creativity and Individual Expression: Through visual arts, music, composition, and performance, students develop creative talents while exploring Jewish heritage and global culture.
Developing Strength, Leadership, and Teamwork: Through fitness, team sports, and competitive athletics, students build physical skills, confidence, resilience, and school spirit.

Educational field trips, overnight travel, musical theatre, athletics, and after-school enrichment provide meaningful opportunities for discovery, leadership, and personal growth. Middle School experiences culminate in an eighth-grade trip to Israel, connecting students to their Jewish heritage and identity.
