Performing Arts

At Hillel Academy, our Theatre Program is a vibrant and transformative experience where students in grades 3 through 8 are inspired to explore their creativity, build confidence, and grow through collaboration. Guided by dedicated instructors, the program ignites a passion for the performing arts while helping students discover their unique voices.

From the youngest performers to the more seasoned, our theatre program provides a space for all students to learn and thrive. Through engaging rehearsals, hands-on workshops, and exciting performances, students develop their skills in acting, directing, and stagecraft.

Beyond the spotlight, students also have the opportunity to shine off-stage. Our technical crew roles, including lights, sound, stage management, and more, teach invaluable life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication. Working behind the scenes not only deepens their understanding of the production process but also helps them develop crucial skills that will serve them in any future endeavor.

Theatre at Hillel goes beyond the stage, teaching important lessons in public speaking, emotional intelligence, and collaboration. Students work together to bring stories to life while growing as individuals.

Our Musical Theatre Program offers a dynamic and fun-filled experience, with past performances including Shrek, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Music Man. Whether students dream of performing in the spotlight or working behind the scenes, there’s a place for everyone to contribute their talents. Auditions take place in December, with rehearsals beginning in January, culminating in a spectacular show in mid-May.

Through this program, students develop not only their creativity and confidence but also invaluable teamwork skills. The Hillel Theatre Program fosters a supportive, inspiring community, shaping well-rounded individuals who carry their lessons far beyond the theatre.
